Job Title: Field Technician
Pay: 21/hr
Job Description
Great opportunity for year-round work as a utility locator. You will join a reputable Utility Engineering company within their field tech team. These entry-level field techs gain on-the-job training in utility locating and utility designating, along with knowledge and experience in surveying methods and technology. The SUE technician will be going out in the field and collecting the location of underground utilities. They will be working with crews to locate and sometimes expose the sewer and underground systems. The role involves working in the field the majority of the time with large equipment and surveying equipment.
Responsibilities
Learn the operation of SUE utility locating and designating equipment, including pipe and cable locators and non-destructive vacuum excavation.
Use tools and equipment to conduct utility investigations, including jackhammer, pogo-tamper, concrete saw, compressor blower, vacuum hose, air lance, and hand tools.
Complete daily logs of work performed, which includes simple mathematics.
Perform safety set-up and maintenance of traffic operations under direct supervision of field staff.
Assist with survey and data collection tasks, supporting overall crew activities.
Perform daily routine maintenance of equipment.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $16.00 - $21.00/hr.
