Bureau of Reclamation Maintenance Worker in Friant, California

For more information on the California Great Basin Region, visit: here Duty Location: Friant, California Responsibilities As a Maintenance Worker, your duties and responsibilities will include: Landscape installation and maintenance. Inspecting buildings, appurtenant structures, and equipment for needed repairs. Conducting preventative and routine maintenance and repairs on various structures, facilities, and equipment. Building small structures and replacing deteriorated sections of existing structures. Conducting maintenance and repairs on walkways, concrete platforms, and around existing masonry structures. Installing and maintaining exterior siding, roofing, and trim materials. Performing routine electrical maintenance tasks such as replacing light switches and fixtures, changing light bulbs; assisting electrician when pulling wire through conduit, installing electrical boxes, etc. Monitoring water filtration system components in accordance with prescribed schedules. Identifying major equipment malfunctions and reporting such issues to management. Following instructions to ensure compliance with all occupational health and safety standards. Completing and maintaining technical documentation, work records and reports. Performing other related duties as assigned. Requirements Conditions of Employment You must be a U.S. Citizen or U.S. National. You must be suitable for federal employment, determined by a background investigation. You must maintain a valid state-issued driver's license at all times, as the position requires operation of government vehicles on government and public roads. Failure to maintain a valid state-issued driver's license at all times will result in removal from the position. Successful completion of a pre-employment physical examination by a licensed physician certifying your ability to perform the duties of this position is required. Periodic, recurring safety & occupational health medical examinations required. Must be willing and able to complete the Department of Interior's Motorboat Operator Certification Course (MOCC). Required to wear personal protective clothing and equipment while performing duties, in accordance with occupational health and safety rules and standards. Nature of work requires the physical strength and endurance to push, pull, reach, bend, stoop, walk, stand, crawl, and kneel; ability to work overhead and at heights. May be subject to wearing a respirator and an air sampling monitor while performing certain duties.
