Robert Half Staff Accountant in Fresno, California

Description We are looking for a proficient Staff Accountant to join our team in Fresno, California. The Staff Accountant will play a crucial role in the full-cycle processing of accounts, maintenance of accurate financial transactions, and contributing to the monthly and annual closing activities. This role is essential in refining our accounting procedures and enhancing fiscal efficiency.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee the processing of accounts payable and receivable, including regular updates, reconciliations, and monthly billings.

• Ensure accurate financial transactions and records are maintained, posting all revenue streams and billings correctly in the accounting system.

• Perform daily and month-end journal entries, bank reconciliations, and general ledger account reconciliations.

• Contribute actively to the monthly and annual closing activities to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting.

• Collaborate with team members and departments to refine Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable procedures, integrating with NetSuite accounting software.

• Manage and process accruals for unbilled revenues, intercompany transactions, rent collections, and client deposits accurately.

• Respond to management inquiries and special reporting requests promptly; assist with audit preparations and adhere to closing schedules.

• Lead special projects, focusing on workflow process improvements and the ongoing development of accounting processes, policies, and automation to enhance efficiency. Requirements

• Must hold a minimum of 2 years of experience in a Staff Accountant role or a similar position.

• Proficient in Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR).

• Skilled in conducting Bank Reconciliations.

• Demonstrated experience with General Ledger and Journal Entries.

• Experienced in handling Month End Close procedures.

• Proficiency in using NetSuite is required.

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field is preferred.

• Possess strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

• Strong attention to detail and ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.

• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.

• Must have a strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting.

• Excellent organizational and time management skills.

• Ability to meet tight deadlines and work under pressure.
