Job Title: PLC Technician

Job Description

We are seeking an Automation, Controls, and Robotic Technician to join our team. The Field Service Technician will provide professional services by performing system installations, repairs, and maintenance of equipment. This full-time position requires excellent troubleshooting skills, adaptability to changing work schedules, and the ability to work independently while traveling extensively. You will primarily service customers within the United States.

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot and debug automated and robotic systems.

  • Collaborate with a team of engineers to develop innovative solutions.

  • Monitor and analyze the performance of automated systems.

  • Research and evaluate new technologies for automation and robotics.

  • Prepare technical documents, user manuals, and critical spare parts.

  • Provide technical guidance and support to colleagues.

  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and industry standards.

  • Maintain accurate records of automated and robotic systems.

  • Promote a positive and productive culture, treating others with respect.

  • Develop and implement preventive maintenance plans for automated systems to ensure optimal performance and minimize downtime.

  • Train and mentor junior engineers and technicians on best practices in automation and robotics.

  • Coordinate with suppliers and vendors to source components and materials for automation projects.

  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance manufacturing processes and efficiency.

  • Conduct risk assessments and develop mitigation strategies for automated systems.

  • Travel may be required and typically will not exceed 10%.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Essential Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Technology, Mechanical Engineering, Robotics Engineering, or a related technical, scientific, or engineering field.

  • 1+ years of related experience in a robotics or automation role preferred.

  • Proficiency in computer-aided drafting (CAD) software to create accurate drawings and schematics.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite or related software for report and documentation creation.

  • Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing tools.

  • Experience with PLC programming and other industrial control systems.

  • Knowledge of machine learning and AI applications in automation.

  • Experience with robotic simulation software (e.g., RoboDK, ABB RobotStudio).

  • Strong project management skills with the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.

  • Ability to occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 lbs.

  • Degree and/or Certification in electrical and communication engineering systems.

  • Proven work experience as a field service or automation technician.

  • Ability to travel (up to 40%) and work according to a changing schedule.

We offer competitive compensation, including a per diem auto allowance of $500/monthly plus mileage, and a starting pay DOE up to $90K. Work Environment

This is a traveling position, primarily within the central valley but occasionally requiring out-of-state or international travel. You will use your own vehicle for travel. The role involves working in various environments, including standing, walking, sitting, reaching, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, talking, hearing, and using fingers and hands to feel objects, tools, or controls. The position is salary non-exempt, allowing for overtime opportunities.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $80000.00 - $90000.00

Company Benefits:

Perdiem is auto allowance of $500/monthly plus mileage. They use their own vehicle.

Starting pay DOE up to $90K plus full medical/dental/vision benefits for entire family.

Currently 100% Company Paid Medical, Dental and Vision for you and your family.

2 weeks of paid PTO accrued on a monthly basis after 90 days of employment.
