Robert Half Medical Billing Specialist in Fresno, California
Description We are offering a unique opportunity for a Medical Billing Specialist in the Healthcare/NHS industry. This position is based in Fresno, California, and offers a contract to permanent employment opportunity. The role involves handling insurance billing, managing accounts receivable, and interpreting Explanation of Benefits (EOBs) among other duties.
Responsibilities:
• Handle all aspects of insurance billing including understanding and interpreting Explanation of Benefits (EOBs)
• Utilize experience in CPT/NDC/HSPCS and ICD-10 coding across various specialties
• Manage accounts receivable which includes drafting appeals, investigating outstanding claims, and handling zero EOBs
• Adhere to the billing requirements of private pay, Medicare/Medicaid, and Medi-Cal insurance
• Navigate through ICD-10 (LCD Edits) and manage CCI edits
• Verify benefits with insurance providers and interpret EOBs
• Utilize various software systems including Allscripts, Cerner Technologies, Dynamic Data Exchange (DDE), EHR SYSTEM, and Epaces
• Handle claim administration and both billing and benefit functions
• Process customer credit applications accurately and efficiently
• Maintain accurate customer credit records. Requirements • Proficiency in healthcare billing software such as Allscripts, Cerner Technologies, and EHR SYSTEM
• Familiarity with Dynamic Data Exchange (DDE) and Epaces
• Experience in managing Accounts Receivable (AR) in a healthcare setting
• Ability to successfully handle appeals and benefit functions related to medical billing
• Expertise in billing functions and claim administration within the healthcare industry
• Demonstrable understanding of the medical billing process within the NHS
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in data entry
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills for effective patient interaction
• Ability to work independently and make decisions under minimal supervision
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel and Word
• Strong organizational and multitasking skills
• High level of integrity and respect for patient confidentiality
• Knowledge of medical terminology and coding.
