Industrial Maintenance Technician

Job Description

Reporting to the Maintenance Supervisor, the Maintenance Technician will be responsible for the following:

  • Conforms to and has department conform to facilityies quality standards.

  • Updates and monitors a preventative maintenance program for the Fresno plant.

  • Assists in troubleshooting as needed on plant equipment. Perform needed repairs when required. Researches, suggests, and implements system upgrades.

  • Analyze malfunctioning machines and system (electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, etc.) and make necessary repairs, adjustments, modifications, subject to management approval.

  • Good degree of mechanical aptitude, will troubleshoot mechanical issues with the equipment & electrical troubleshooting

  • For example, identifying the cause of a mechanical error as a sensor failing to fire, and pinpointing how it is affecting the machine

  • Changing & swapping out motors and re-wiring them

  • Coordinates the day-to-day preventative maintenance requirements and must have proficiency in all maintenance jobs.

  • Helps relieve and cover maintenance department vacations to minimize overtime costs.

  • Through a parts clerk, establishes parts ordering requirements to ensure that adequate supplies of appropriate spare parts are kept in stock.

  • Repairs production equipment, plant equipment, and related facilities as directed.

  • Includes broilers, air compressors and refrigeration systems.

  • Analyze and repair specialized equipment heavily dependent on electrical controls, microprocessors controls, electro-mechanical mechanisms, and related components under general direction.

  • Performs all work in a safe and professional manner and reports safety deficiencies immediately.

  • MIG and TIG Welding on stainless steel and carbon steel

Skills:

  • Mechanically inclined, with 5+ years experience in Mechanical Maintenance within a Production Environment.

  • Industrial Maintenance on Fluid Processing machinery

  • Hydraulic and Pneumatics Experience

  • Electrical and Mechanical Aptitude

  • Electrical troubleshooting, motor, VFD drives, electrical devices, and other control devices (RTD’s, Level Sensors, etc.)

  • Able to work on AC\DC low voltage circuits

  • Fluid processing equipment is a plus, while pasteurization and homogenizer experience is perfect for this position.

  • Individuals with food production experience and highly encouraged to apply

Additional Skills & Qualifications:

  • Must have a good safety record.

  • A high school diploma or general education degree (GED).

  • Must be able to read, write and speak English. Ability to read, write and speak in Spanish a plus.

Shifts:

  • 2nd: 2:00pm-10:30pm

  • 3rd: 10pm-6:30am

  • Overtime and currently working 6 days--will get 1 day off per week minimum

  • Will train on a first shift then move into either a 2nd or 3rd shift
