Description

Position Summary:

The Education and Prevention Director is responsible for overseeing the planning, implementation, and evaluation of educational and prevention programs across multiple contracts. This role requires strong leadership, strategic thinking, and collaboration with community partners, stakeholders, and staff to ensure program effectiveness and compliance with contractual obligations. Maintains oversight of facility operations. Essential Job Functions include those listed below.

Essential Job Functions :

  • Provide administrative leadership and supervision to the department;

  • Function as a liaison to the Deputy Administrator and Senior Vice President and external groups and agencies in promoting inter-organizational collaboration including attending Board and Advisory Board meetings as required;

  • Assist in grant planning and initiation of potential funding opportunities when required;

  • Participate in design and implementation of program evaluation and outcome studies;

  • Oversee implementation of multiple contracts simultaneously;

  • Arrange for staff development, education, and training activities;

  • Implement Quality Assurance and Utilization Review systems that monitor the effectiveness of the program services;

  • Assist in the development of program fiscal and budgetary systems and implementation as well as providing the oversight and management of operating budget and program fiscal expenditures;

  • Monitor compliance with all required standards, regulations, state, and federal guidelines;

  • Develop, implement, and monitor procedures to meet agency policies and contract management including the preparation of comprehensive reports for funding or agency sources;

  • Plan and manage event logistics for annual events;

  • Research, select, and negotiate contracts with venues and vendors;

  • Create detailed timelines and schedules for event preparation, execution, and breakdown;

  • Foster and maintain relationships with clients, vendors, and community partners to facilitate successful collaborations;

  • Embrace and embody the mission, vision, guiding principles, clinical vision, and goals of WestCare Foundation; and

  • Perform any other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Essential Qualifications:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform the duties and responsibilities satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are presentative of the knowledge, skills, and/ or ability required.

Experience and Competencies:

  • A minimum of three (3) years supervisory experience with knowledge of program performance indicators;

  • Two (2) Years of case management services;

  • Excellent communication skills;

  • Ability to exercise good judgment and discretion;

  • Ability to work well in a team environment;

  • Adherence to the highest standard of ethical conduct, especially to standards governing confidentiality;

  • Professional appearance and demeanor;

  • Must be culturally/linguistically sensitive to populations served;

  • Ability to obtain and maintain a successful background check.

  • Ability to obtain and maintain clearance from LEIE, MSIL, and EPLS;

  • Valid driver’s license and ability to obtain and maintain WestCare’s vehicle insurance is required;

  • CPR Certification, First Aid Certification, and an annual Tuberculosis test.

    Education:

  • Graduation from an accredited four-year college with a degree in Addiction Counseling, Criminal Justice, Social Work, Psychology, or a related field or equivalent experience and education combined.

    Working Conditions:

  • Work is performed primarily in a professional office setting;

  • Travel to community-based providers is required; and

  • Some outdoor activities may be required.

  • A minimum of 40 hours per week are expected but significantly more hours will be required from time to time. Completion of job duties may require working before and after normal working hours. Regular attendance is required. Being able to work as many hours as is necessary to complete job tasks is a required and essential duty of this position.
