SANDUSKY COUNTY Crime Victims Advocate in Fremont, Ohio

CRIME VICTIMS ADVOCATE FULL-TIME POSITION PROSECUTORS OFFICE PRIMARY FOCUS: Victims of crimes being prosecuted in Sandusky County Common Pleas Court, Juvenile Court and County Courts. MINIMUM ACCEPTABLE QUALIFICATIONS: Completion of secondary education in criminal justice or (2) years' experience in related fields. Ability to communicate clearly. Valid Ohio vehicle operator's license with an acceptable driving record. JOB DUTIES INCLUDE: Provide crime victims with information, support, and advocacy, as well as practical assistance in response to an individual's victimization. Accompanies crime victims/witnesses to court proceedings and provides appropriate resources to crime victims. Meets with victims to prepare for court and accompanies them during interviews by police detectives, as appropriate. Assist the public in filling out paperwork for Civil Protection or Stalking Protective Orders and in determining what alternatives are available; assists victims with Crime Victim Compensation forms; notifies crime victims of the release of offenders from incarceration. Oversees the Victim Advocate grant fund reporting and maintains all necessary financial statistics and records accounting and adheres to their reporting requirements.
