POSITION SUMMARY:

Leads a small team to plan, coordinate, and execute quality activities related to the production and release for a business unit produced in accordance with government regulations and Nestlé standards in a cost-effective manner. The Quality Supervisor is vital in prevention of significant negative brand image impact as a potential result of non-confirming goods. Prevention and minimizing of rejections, improvement of factory processes, and positive impact on plant costs of Quality and non-Quality.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Quality guardianship - Notify appropriate production personnel / management of significant deviations and products blocked.

  • People and know-how - Lead and motivate the team in the achievement of their objectives. Contribute to the development of competence of quality professionals. Promote quality awareness and commitment to quality across the unit. Develop, provide, and facilitate Quality training modules for the Business unit staff.

  • Quality System - Define and update the specific quality procedures, instructions, and tools for the Business unit. Contribute to define and follow-up on quality KPIs. Set operational objectives in collaboration with the Factory Quality Manager. Author and revise forms / Sops as necessary.

  • Quality Mastership - Support Nestlé Continuous Excellence program in the quest for zero defect. Support activities to achieve compliance with the Nestlé Quality Management System requirements and other applicable instructions and standards. Assist and support all validation activities in the Business unit. Act as a Quality liaison for the Business unit for Hygiene, HACCP & Thermal process activities.

  • Quality auditing and verification - Support unit readiness for internal and external audits. Perform trouble shooting and corrective action follow-up of non-conformities. Support Management of Change (MOC) implementation. Work with external certification and regulatory parties as required such as FDA, USDA, Kosher and Organic programs.

  • Quality by design - Support and act as Quality liaison for projects during industrialization and launch steps.

  • Quality control activities - Act as positive release coordinator for Business units’ products.

SUPERVISION GIVEN:

  • Supervision of 1-5 people

  • Indirect supervision to Operations and Maintenance teams

Key external relationships

Suppliers

Local government agencies

Auditing bodies

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

Bachelor’s degree required (preferred microbiology, chemistry, or food science).

Operational Experience

Exposure to different jobs within the Business unit (production, maintenance) or within Quality (Quality specialist).

Minimum of 3-5 years of related Quality experience required in a manufacturing regulatory environment (food or pharma preferred); aseptic exposure a big plus.

1-3 years leadership experience highly preferred; exposure to the audit process.
