Our client, a leading technology company, is seeking a Materials Science and Analytical Technician to join their team. As a Materials Science and Analytical Technician, you will be part of the Materials Science Lab supporting the Engineering and R&D teams. The ideal candidate will have attention to detail, strong analytical skills, and the ability to work with advanced instrumentation, which will align successfully in the organization.

Job Title: Materials Science and Analytical Technician

Location: Fremont, CA

Pay Range:$38.00+/hr DOE

What’s the Job?

• Prepare calibration standards and samples for analysis.

• Set up and maintain run logs on analytical instruments such as GCMS, AFM, SEM, and Raman spectrometers.

• Operate advanced instrumentation, including scanning electron microscope (SEM), atomic force microscope (AFM), Raman spectrometer, and gas chromatography-mass spectrometer (GCMS).

• Perform materials characterization and analysis of drive media and heads to identify causes of failure.

• Handle small components with precision and avoid contamination during sample preparation and analysis.

What’s Needed?

• A background in chemistry, materials science, or a related field with practical lab experience.

• Experience working with analytical instruments such as GCMS, AFM, SEM, and Raman spectrometers.

• Ability to handle organic solvents and prepare calibration and standard solutions safely.

• Strong attention to detail with the ability to follow research protocols and ensure accurate data collection.

• Experience with trace organic analysis or materials characterization is a plus.
