The UNICORN Field Application Specialist for Cytiva is responsible for performing advanced post-installation hands-on training and consulting for customers.

This position is part of the Bioprocess Product & Application Support team located in Europe and will be fully remote. At Cytiva, our vision is, to advance future therapeutics from discovery to delivery.

What you will do:

  • Perform advanced post-installation hands-on training and consulting for customers; deliver high level hands-on application support to chromatography customers and support with process optimization and process transfer; provide expert technical support for users, e.g., troubleshooting, including on-site process-connected problem solving.

  • Provide large scale column packing training, support and troubleshooting.

  • Actively support the sales process for UNICORN controlled chromatography systems and BioProcess columns in the field of process development and manufacturing by advising in sales discussions, giving presentations and hands-on demonstrations.

  • Deliver input to Marketing and R&D and Management with particular focus on customer comments, market info and competitor practices; develop and present ideas for improvements and new solutions - technical developments and demands, new processes and unit operations; provide industrially focused chromatography and UNICORN training for Cytiva personnel, as requested.

  • Participate in and support global initiatives in education, consulting, and technical support; prepare, execute and wrap up Standard and Custom courses, lecturing and hands-on lab work/teaching required; contribute to updating and development of new courses, practical exercises and course materials.

Who you are:

  • Educated in Life Sciences with University level, MSc or equivalent; with at least 3 years’ experience in Downstream processing in a large-scale industrial environment.

  • Knowledgeable in chromatography, filtration, biotechnology, GMP

  • Fluent in English and preferably at least one other European language

  • Team player with ability to work in multi-cultural environment

  • Effective in communication and presentation skills

  • Goal oriented, creative, flexible and well organized

  • Must be prepared to travel up to 70 %, mainly in Europe.

It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:

  • DeltaV or other automation software
