The Site Services Controller plays a crucial role in supporting Site Controller in overseeing the financial operations and reporting for the Freeport Verbund Site as well as supporting the NAF Site Service organization (Labs, Logistics, HR and Site Manager) all while fostering a continuous improvement mindset. This position entails a diverse range of financial tasks and responsibilities, all aimed at ensuring the provision of accurate and timely financial information, as well as analysis and accurate reporting of the Site's performance. In addition to these core duties, the Site Services Controller will actively participate in various teams that support NAF, GB and the site OD’s (production units). Additionally, using digitalization & AI tools, this role will be responsible for enhancing reporting & analysis as well as performing NAF Project Economic Analysis.

As a Site Services Controller, you create chemistry by...

  • Budgeting and Forecasting: You will support the development and maintenance of the Site Services organizations fixed cost & capital budgets, forecasting and annual roll-up of the overall NAF budget, as well as collaborating with various departments to gather relevant financial data and provide insights for budget planning and variance analysis.

  • Working on Cost Control and Financial Analysis: You will monitor and analyze costs and variances to identify areas for improvement (e.g., cost-saving opportunities), and conduct financial analysis and provide insights on key performance indicators (KPIs) to drive operational improvements and identify financial risks and opportunities.

  • Providing Auditing and Compliance Support: You will support internal and external audit activities to satisfaction, including the coordination of the annual physical inventory count and ensuring timely completion of inventory reconciliations, as well as assisting in maintaining effective internal controls to support Financial Reporting Compliance and ensure compliance with company policies and requirements.

  • Supporting Monthly and Annual Reporting: You will support the month-end and year-end closing processes, including review of cost allocations, accruals, and journal entries when needed. In addition, you will review and validate site-relevant topics such as fixed asset replacement values, property tax allocations, coordinate annual reporting requirements (e.g., Responsible Care), Governmental Reporting, etc.

  • Supporting Digitalization: You will lead the identification of opportunities for automation and streamlining to improve efficiency and accuracy in processes and reporting, and collaborate with our Service Hub (Montevideo) and Regional Controlling to enhance Site reporting capabilities using other BASF reporting tools (Maris, Ocean, Cobus, etc) to further support the Site and OD’s.

  • Working on NA Verbund Reporting: You will align on best practices (benchmarking) with sister Verbund sites regarding reporting, application of guidelines, joint topics & initiatives to best support ongoing operations of the Sites and OD’s.

  • Managing Projects: You will leverage leadership skills to manage projects and work across multi-disciplinary teams. You will be responsible for NAF Project Economic Analysis (PET) to support Capital Investment and Opex projects. Partner with Site Development to analyze 3rd party growth and the establishment of requisite Service level Agreements (SLA’s).

If you...

  • Have a Bachelor's degree in Accounting (preferred) or Finance. Having a CPA, CMA and/or MBA will be a plus.

  • Possess 10+ years of relevant work experience. Previous Site Controlling and/or project experience will be desireable.

  • Are proficient in MS Office and Power BI

  • Have working knowledge of ERP systems (e.g. SAP, Oracle, etc.) and project economic analysis tools

  • Possess strong leadership skills

  • Have good communicaton skills, including elaborating different types of documents and presentations, as well as the ability to interpret and act on data insights
