Kelly Science & Clinical is currently seeking candidates for a Safe Work Permit Writer position onsite at Dow Chemical in Freeport TX. The overall responsibility of this role is to provide project support by writing and issuing permits across various types of work. The ideal candidate will possess experience in permit writing, safety compliance, and coordinating with multiple teams to ensure smooth project operations.

Job Responsibilities:

• Write and issue Safe Work Permits including hot work, confined space, heavy equipment, fall prevention, firewater protection, internal combustion engine, etc.

• Work closely with terminal operations and marine schedulers to optimize work schedules based on daily operations and transfers

• Coordinate with terminal permit writers to assess the impact of various activities on permitted areas and other work

• Communicate with stakeholders to ensure smooth operations and proper coverage for all scheduled and unscheduled work

• Provide a weekly schedule of activities to assist in planning permit work

Job Requirements:

• Experience in writing and issuing Safe Work Permits including hot work, confined space, heavy equipment, and related types of safety permits

• Strong understanding of safety standards and best practices for various types of work

• Ability to coordinate with multiple teams and departments to ensure smooth operations

• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal

• Previous experience in industrial or construction safety roles is preferred

• Experience working in Plant A at Dow Chemical in Freeport would be a big plus

• Must be able to work in various environmental conditions including outdoor work in the Texas climate
