Community Health Systems Patient Accounts Supervisor in Franklin, Tennessee
Job Summary
The Supervisor of Patient Accounts leads daily activities of their assigned teams and responsibilities. Monitors workflows for accuracy and efficiency.
Essential Functions
Effectively leads, coaches, trains and counsels team members as necessary
Monitors employee performance for compliance with PPS/CHS policies and guidelines
Schedules staff according to operational needs
Establishes and monitors team goals
Handles escalated issues related to daily operations
Reviews work completed by staff for accuracy and completeness
Facilitates departmental meetings
Reviews employees/contractors timecards for accuracy and use of Vac/SL/Unpaid time within policy. Approve time for payroll as necessary
Communicates questions or concerns for prompt resolution
Recommends changes to processes as appropriate
Performs other duties as assigned.
Complies with all policies and standards.
Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Health care management or Business required
0-1 years 6 months leadership or supervisory experience required
5-7 years at least 5 years of revenue cycle management with a general knowledge of ICD9 and CPT coding; or equivalent combination of education and experience. required
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Knowledge of W-9 and 1099 processes, procedures, reporting, and general accounting practices.
In depth knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel.
General knowledge of computer systems usage, AS/400 specific knowledge a plus.
Conscientious individual capable of following instructions and exercising independent thought and judgment.
Effective organizational and communication skills
Computer Skills Required: To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Word Processing software; Spreadsheet software and Database software.
