Sr. Accountant

Position Summary:

Accurately and efficiently reviews and reports financial activity by collecting financial information from sales reports, banks, and other sources. The client specialist also provides support to restaurant managers by answering financial questions and providing financial information as needed.

Responsibilities and Duties:

· Prepare daily analysis of cash variances of all clients assigned and notify stores of large cash variances

· Perform period closing duties such as sales entries and General Ledger reconciliations

· Verify bank activity and prepare bank transaction entries

· Provide feedback to management regarding processing improvements and issue resolution

· Make adjusting general ledger entries as required

· Adapt to conflicting priorities as well as established deadlines based upon company demands

· Be aware of changing accounting practices while learning to use software to maximize efficiencies.

· Analyze and research discrepancies and understand the big picture when affecting GL accounts and sales data

· Work with Sr. Accountant and Sr. Accounting Manager to ensure accurate reporting for period end

· Work with Treasury staff and stores to verify deposits & total cash responsibility

· Effectively communicate with the field (Area Directors, General Mgrs, etc) regarding credit card, cash, third party delivery transactions or issues that arise

· Assist in other departments (AP, Payroll, etc) as needed

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

· Ability to work independently

· Display a high degree of expertise in completing client deliverables

· Display a high degree of expertise in obtaining critical information from clients

· A belief that 100% accuracy and integrity is key in all aspects of accounting

· Knowledge and understanding of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP)

· Strong understanding of Excel, Banking and reconciliation systems ie ReconArt or SAP

· Strong verbal & written communication skills (customer service oriented)

Qualifications:

· Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field preferred

· 3 - 6 years relevant experience preferred

responsibilities:

  • Maintain and review general ledger for accuracy

  • Recording original Investor contributions, land purchases, monthly construction draws and maintaining corporate A/R for development projects.

  • Calculating and recording investor distributions

  • Accounts receivable tenant invoice preparation and depositing tenant rent and locate and retrieve information from files in response to requests.

  • Set up new entities in MRI and Avidpay and perform various duties associated with data entry and research.

  • Account reconciliations (cash, accounts receivable, intercompany, and others as necessary).

  • Calculate and process monthly management fees for properties and quarterly accounting fees to corporate.

  • Help with audit/tax documentation as needed and property tax bills.

  • Any special projects that may be assigned

  • Maintain depreciation software and record annual depreciation

  • Assist in preparing cost segregation packages

  • Help with other duties both in accounting and other areas of the company as needed.

  • Occasional Accounts payable processing, check preparation, mailing and vendor relations

qualifications:

  • Extensive knowledge of US GAAP

  • Solid, hands on experience with large ERP systems, MRI and AvidPay are a plus.

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and changing environment

  • Experience and comfort in working with individuals across various organizational levels

  • BS Degree in Accounting

  • Knowledge of outlook, excel, and word.

  • Excellent communication and organization skills needed.
