Community Health Systems Regulatory Readiness Improvement Manager (Remote) in Franklin, Tennessee

Summary:

The Regulatory Readiness Improvement Manager works as part of the corporate quality team to ensure proper planning, organization, leadership and implementation of regulatory /outcome strategic initiatives. This team member will assist in leading corporate wide projects aimed at improving regulatory outcomes. The Regulatory Readiness Improvement Manager provides leadership, expertise, education, guidance, and assistance to CHS-affiliated organizations, Regional leaders, Corporate Leadership, and Corporate departments to support regulatory readiness improvement projects that have been prioritized. This team member reports to the Corporate Senior Director of Quality.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Plays a key role in regulatory readiness improvement in alignment with quality and regulatory goals. Collaborates with leadership and to implement processes that will improve regulatory outcomes.

  • Support the Quality and Regulatory Operations leadership with focused analyses or improvement efforts and management of regulatory readiness improvement projects and initiatives.

  • Ability to conduct data analyses in an effort to improve facility regulatory outcomes. Ability to manage / lead a variety of regulatory readiness improvement projects and initiatives.

  • Ensure mechanisms are in place to assess progress towards implementation of regulatory readiness improvement goals and objectives.

  • Review plans of corrections for state, CMS, The Joint Commission, and other regulatory bodies as a result of facility citations.

  • Provide follow-up communication and improvement work related to facility survey readiness assessments Expertise with application of the CHS Process Improvement methodology as led by the Corporate Senior Director of PI.

  • Assist the organization to plan, implement, and evaluate the effectiveness of their regulatory readiness improvement efforts.

  • Coordinate efforts with other internal CHS support departments to support achievement of individual/hospital/regional/corporate goals.

  • Routinely communicate effectively with facility/regional/department/corporate leaders on findings, priorities, results of improvement actions, barriers to improvement actions, recommendations for improvement, and other pertinent information.

  • Participate in other projects and initiatives as requested.

Qualifications:

Education:

Nursing Registered Nursing Degree or other clinical background required.

Experience:

3 years current experience in Healthcare Quality with at least 2 years recent experience in quality management required, performance improvement, outcome improvement, and patient safety experience required.

Certificates and Licenses

.CPHQ or HACP certification required, or achieved within two years of hire. NAHQ Regulatory Micro certification a plus. Other certifications or advanced degrees considered, but optional.

Reasoning Ability:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to:

  • Define problems, collect and interpret data, utilize a variety of quality improvement, statistical tools, process improvement tools, and formats, as needed , establish facts, draw valid conclusions and develop sound plans for improvement.

  • Communicate effectively with facility/regional/corporate staff and leaders, vendors, co-workers, and others via written and verbal communications.

  • Work collaboratively with others across the organization to achieve individual, group, departmental, facility, regional or corporate goals.

  • Basic project management skills.

Computer Skills:

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Google Workspace and Google that includes email, Google Doc, Google Sheets, Google Slides, Google Meet, and other applicable Google applications. The individual should also have skills (or obtain skills within a reasonable time) to support quality staff and other leaders in the use/troubleshooting of quality/operational software and web-based applications.
