HR Coordinator

Job Description

Assist HR Director and HR Generalists while providing primary counter assistance to employees and handling administrative duties for the Human Resources Department. Track grievances, job bid logs, layoffs/recalls, and disciplinary action.

Responsibilities

  • Provide primary counter assistance for hourly employees, including answering questions, I.D. photos, change in address/phone forms, tax forms, benefit questions, and retirement processing.

  • Offer clerical assistance to HR Manager and Generalists, plan/schedule meetings, track salaried overtime, purchase office supplies, and maintain all personnel files.

  • Monitor disciplinary actions to ensure the proper sequence is followed, maintain a log of disciplinary actions in SAP, file disciplinary forms promptly, and track attendance of all hourly employees.

  • Maintain job bid log and files, emergency day log and files, grievance files, and bulletin boards.

  • Distribute Union copies of layoffs, terminations, disciplinary actions, seniority lists, job postings, new hires, and unsatisfactory performers in a timely fashion. Enter all personnel movement (layoffs/recalls) into SAP to ensure proper classification of benefits.

  • Act as backup to Personnel Scheduler.

  • Follow safety and environmental objectives and targets, adhere to safety rules, report incidents and unsafe conditions immediately, maintain compliance with regulations, and refer to the Safety & Environmental Management System(s) for all related procedures and programs.

Essential Skills

  • 1+ year of HR experience or 5+ years of strong administrative/secretarial experience

  • Great communication and written skills

  • High School Diploma

  • Excellent computer skills (Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint)

  • Experience in manufacturing or distribution

Work Environment

This position reports to the HR Director and works alongside two other HR Generalists. There are numerous growth and learning opportunities, with a strong culture of promoting from within. The flexible shift is from 9-5, with a start time between 8 AM and 9 AM.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $26.00 - $28.00/hr.
