MACON COUNTY County HR Generalist in FRANKLIN, North Carolina
POSITION: HR Generalist DEPARTMENT: Human Resources Grade: 26 Position Number: 416005 Starting Salary: $39,282.36 Posted: December 10, 2024 *Closing: December 17, 2024 at 5:00 P.M. * General Definition of Work: Employees in this position perform moderate to difficult skilled technical work preparing and processing personnel records, tracking and processing employment applications, job descriptions, performance evaluations, and certifications, education, and training through MUNIS, assisting the Human Resources Director, Human Resources Specialist, and HR Analyst in maintaining files and records and related work as apparent or assigned. Work is performed under the limited supervision of the Human Resources Director.

Essential Functions: * Serves as primary for keying employee data into Munis. * Processing employee personnel action forms, job descriptions, performance evaluations, and employee certifications, training, and education in MUNIS. * Serves as the primary for keying background check information into the Castlebranch data system. Tracks completion of background checks and reports outcomes to the HR Director. * Serves as the primary for keying Motor Vehicle Records (MVRs) checks. Tracks completions of MVRs and reports outcomes to the HR Director. * Assists with processing onboarding and benefit documents. * Assists with the completion of employment and wage statements, I-9's, W-2's, and other benefit forms; verifies employment; orders, prints and files replacement benefit cards. * Other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Comprehensive knowledge of personnel administration, including knowledge of accepted methods and practices of employee benefits administration and records maintenance techniques; general knowledge of principles of governmental organization and administration; ability to maintain the confidentiality of personnel records and discussions; ability to express ideas effectively both orally and in writing; ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with departmental supervisors, employees and the general public, and ability to operate personal computer including thorough knowledge of applicable software packages.
Education and Experience * Associates/Technical degree with coursework in personnel management, public administration, or related field and moderate experience in personnel management * OR equivalent combination of education and experience.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS This work requires the occasional exertion of up to 10 pounds of force; work regularly requires sitting, speaking or hearing, using hands to finger, handle or feel and repetitive motions, frequently requires reaching with hands and arms and occasionally requires standing, walking, climbing or balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching or crawling and lifting; work has standard vision requirements; vocal communication is required for expressing or exchanging ideas by means of the spoken word; hearing is required to perceive information at normal spoken word levels; work requires preparing and analyzing written or computer data and observing general surroundings and activities; work has no exposure to environmental conditions; work is generally in a moderately noisy location (e.g. business office, light traffic).
