Job Description

Hybrid or Remote: This role is based remotely but if you live within a 50-mile radius of [Atlanta, Austin, Detroit, Warren, or Milford], you are expected to report to that location three times a week, at minimum.
The Role
The Product Safety Data Analytics team is seeking a skilled Data Scientist with a wide range of AI/ML experience from NLP, to traditional models like XGBoost and SVM along with expertise in Azure, Databricks, and MLflow for LLM’s. This Data Scientist role requires well-rounded programming capabilities and statistical techniques to solve complex problems. As a Machine Learning Data Scientist, you will play a key role in providing technical expertise and guidance to ensure the successful development and delivery of Machine Learning and AI solutions. Your responsibilities will include working with your customers, Engineers, Data Analysts and Data Scientists to understand their needs and collaborating within your team to determine the best approach. Once the approach is identified, data selection including analyzing and preparing the data is key for training your machine learning model. Additional steps include working within our ML Ops framework to test and deploy your solution.
What You’ll Do
Train new machine learning models to solve complex business problems.
Enhance existing machine learning models to increase performance and adapt to our changing business landscape.
Prototype new AI solutions, including Generative AI, to solve business problems.
You provide guidance on describing enterprise or vehicle performance using statistical methods and can craft ad-hoc reports to share findings and recommendations with business partners.
You thrive in reciprocal environments with leaders and managers to resolve and address ad-hoc data and reporting needs.
Build statistical models that depict company-wide trends.
Perform testing and validation of data sets.
Challenge of determining the meaning of data and explaining how various teams and leaders can leverage it to improve and streamline their processes.
Keeping defined structures in documentation and data and have a large toolset in statistical methodologies to tackle business problems.
Additional Job Description
Your Skills & Abilities
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field
5+ years of experience in machine learning engineering, data science, or a related field
Experience with Azure cloud services, particularly Azure Machine Learning and Azure Databricks
Familiarity with MLflow for model management and experimentation
Proficiency in Python for machine learning and data analysis
Knowledge of machine learning algorithms, NLP techniques, statistical modeling, and data structures
Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git)
Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment
Strong problem-solving mindset and a proactive attitude towards learning and self-improvement

Compensation:
The expected base compensation for this role is $85,100 - $143,300 USD Annually
Actual base compensation within the identified range will vary based on factors relevant to the position
Bonus Potential: An incentive pay program offers payouts based on company performance, job level, and individual performance
