Basic Qualifications:

• Must be 18 years of age or older

• No experience required and on the job training provided

• No high school diploma, GED or college degree required

Preferred Qualifications:

• Customer service experience

• 1 year of similar work experience

Responsibilities:

• Operating equipment : Safely and efficiently operating recycling equipment, such as balers, forklifts, and processing equipment

• Sorting materials : Separating recyclable materials into appropriate containers, such as metals, glass, paper, and plastics

• Loading and unloading : Loading recyclables onto trucks and unloading them from trucks

• Cleaning : Cleaning recycling yards, materials, and equipment

• Maintaining equipment : Performing preventative maintenance and minor repairs on equipment

• Safety : Implementing and ensuring compliance with safety programs

• Assisting the public : Providing assistance to the public and receiving visitors

• Record keeping : Recording logs of recycled materials, waste chemicals, and production data

• Complying with laws : Ensuring compliance with chemical waste laws
