Description:

We are seeking a highly skilled Sr. in maritime design and a comprehensive understanding of electrical design principles. This role involves serving as a subject matter expert for our client, a major prime contractor for the US Navy, and leading a small team of up to 10 people. The Sr. Electrical Designer will be responsible for ensuring the quality and accuracy of all product deliverables.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and Development:

o Utilize Siemens NX and TeamCenter for electrical design and documentation.

o Review and translate power and communication electrical diagrams to the design model.

o Ensure proper cable segregation and adherence to MIL standards.

o Design main and local wireway routing, ensuring compliance with watertight and firetight boundary methods.

o Apply grounding standards in accordance with MIL-STD-1310.

• Technical Expertise:

o Provide general equipment familiarization and technical guidance.

o Ensure designs meet IEEE standards and overall electrical best practices.

o Serve as the final quality checker for all electrical design deliverables.

• Team Leadership:

o Lead and mentor a team of up to 10 electrical designers.

o Coordinate with other departments and stakeholders to ensure project alignment and success.

o Manage project timelines and deliverables, ensuring high-quality outcomes.

• Client Interaction:

o Act as the primary point of contact for the client, addressing technical queries and providing expert advice.

o Ensure client requirements are met and exceeded through innovative and reliable design solutions.

Additional Skills & Qualifications:

• Education:

o Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.

• Experience:

o Minimum of 8-10 years of experience in electrical design, with a focus on maritime applications.

o Proficiency in Siemens NX and TeamCenter.

o Experience with power and communication diagrams, cable segregation, and fire protection guidelines.

• Skills:

o Strong leadership and team management skills.

o Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.

o Detail-oriented with a strong focus on quality and accuracy.

o Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
