Bureau of Engraving and Printing Pressman Supervisor in Fort Worth, Texas
Summary This position is located at Bureau of Engraving and Printing, within the OFFSET/LEPE Printing Division, Western Currency Facility. As a Pressman Supervisor, you will be responsible for maintaining technical and administrative control of all aspects of the operation(s) assigned - ensuring that quality control is performed in accordance with established BEP QMS Policies and Procedures and equipment manufacturer's specifications for operation, maintenance, and service. Responsibilities As a Pressman Supervisor, you will: Plans, schedule, and coordinate work operations including assigning, directing, and reviewing, through subordinate assistant supervisors or personally, the work of subordinates and evaluating their work performance. Resolve problems and troubleshoot issues related to the work supervised and determine materials and equipment necessary to complete the currency order and the printing of other securities. Ensure that equipment is maintained and in a productive state, all consumable material is available, and appropriate staffing levels are met to meet mission requirements. Prepare reports and advise the area operations manager regarding manufacturing equipment, processes, and personnel. Communicate with employees and union representatives regarding employee suggestions, complaints, grievances as well as perform a variety of administrative and other duties as assigned by the area operations manager. Must be U.S. Citizen or U.S. National Must have had the equivalent of 4 (four) years of experience as a Pressperson (Journeyman) with demonstrated knowledge and ability to operate the BEP Offset and Letterpress equipment and have an understanding of complete currency product evolvement. Physical Requirements: The position may at times exert moderate force when lifting, pushing or pulling equipment, parts or supplies. Lifting occurs with normal body mechanics and does not exceed 45 pounds. Qualifications You must meet the following requirements by the closing date of this announcement. To meet the screen-out element, applicants must have: I have the ability to perform common Pressman Supervisor duties. I have had the equivalent of four years of experience as a Pressperson (Journeyman). I have experience performing administrative duties as an Assistant Supervisor, including assigning priorities, delegating responsibility, and assisting with the training of new employees. I ensure that proper methods and work procedures for currency production are followed and that all safety, security, and accountability procedures are adhered to. In addition, you must also obtain an average score of two (2) for the following elements for this position as addressed through the online question in order to be considered minimally qualified.
