Description
We are seeking an experienced CFO / Director of Finance to join our leadership team in overseeing the financial health of our multi-site manufacturing company. This role will be pivotal in shaping the company’s financial strategy, ensuring effective cash management, and driving robust financial planning and analysis (FP& A) processes. The ideal candidate will possess strong expertise in forecasting, budgeting, and financial reporting, and bring a proven ability to support new product development by providing accurate costing and profitability analysis. In this role, you will lead and mentor the finance and accounting team, working closely with cross-functional teams to ensure timely, accurate, and actionable financial insights that drive our business goals.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Financial Leadership:
Develop and execute the company’s financial strategy to support long-term growth and profitability.
Provide guidance to the executive team on key financial decisions, investments, and financial risks.
Act as a strategic partner to other departments, fostering a collaborative environment focused on data-driven decision-making.
Financial Planning and Analysis (FP& A):
Lead financial forecasting, modeling, and variance analysis to provide visibility into the company's financial health and performance.
Develop and maintain financial dashboards and metrics to track key performance indicators (KPIs) and support data-driven decision-making.
Work closely with product development teams to support new product launches with cost analysis and profitability projections.
Cash Management and Financial Reporting:
Manage cash flow to ensure the company meets all financial commitments while optimizing liquidity.
Prepare and present monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements to the executive team, providing insights and recommendations.
Ensure compliance with financial regulations and company policies, providing accurate and timely reporting.
Budgeting and Forecasting:
Drive the annual budgeting process and collaborate with departmental leaders to ensure alignment with company objectives.
Regularly review and adjust budgets based on performance, market trends, and strategic priorities.
Conduct regular financial analysis to identify trends, opportunities, and risks.
Month-End Close and Audit Compliance:
Oversee the month-end close process, ensuring accuracy and timeliness in financial reporting.
Manage external audits, tax filings, and compliance activities, coordinating with auditors and regulatory bodies as needed.
Team Management and Development:
Lead and mentor a team of accounting and finance professionals, fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
Build team capabilities through training, goal setting, and performance management.
Oversee team activities, including payroll, accounts payable/receivable, and financial reporting functions.
Requirements
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field; MBA or CPA preferred.
10+ years of progressive experience in finance, with a focus on FP& A, cash management, and strategic financial leadership in a manufacturing environment.
Proven experience supporting new product development with costing and profitability analysis.
Strong knowledge of financial systems, ERP platforms, and advanced Excel modeling skills.
Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills with a proven track record of managing high-performing teams.
Ability to thrive in a multi-site, fast-paced environment and handle multiple priorities effectively.
Preferred Skills:
Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data and provide actionable insights.
Familiarity with manufacturing cost accounting, including standard costing and variance analysis.
Experience with financial systems and ERP implementation/optimization in a manufacturing context.
