Aston Carter Payroll & Benefits Specialist in FORT WAYNE, Indiana

Job Summary: The Payroll and Benefits Specialist will be responsible for managing and administering payroll and benefits programs for our employees. This role ensures accurate and timely payroll processing, compliance with relevant regulations, and effective communication of benefits information to employees.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Process bi-weekly or monthly payroll for all employees, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company policies and legal requirements.

  • Maintain payroll records, including timesheets, wage adjustments, and deductions.

  • Administer employee benefits programs, including health insurance, retirement plans, and other company-sponsored benefits.

  • Assist employees with benefits enrollment, changes, and inquiries.

  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll and benefits regulations.

  • Prepare and submit payroll tax filings and other required reports.

  • Reconcile payroll and benefits accounts and resolve discrepancies.

  • Collaborate with HR and finance departments to ensure seamless payroll and benefits operations.

  • Stay updated on industry trends and best practices in payroll and benefits administration.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field.

  • 3+ years of experience in payroll and benefits administration, preferably in a manufacturing environment.

  • Strong knowledge of payroll software and systems (e.g., ADP, Paychex).

  • Familiarity with federal, state, and local payroll and benefits regulations.

  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
