Parkview North Hospital IS Security Summer Non-Clinical Intern in Fort Wayne, Indiana
The IS Security Internship provides practical experience in recognizing and addressing security vulnerabilities. Interns will be involved in identifying threats, implementing solutions, and enhancing protective measures. They will also help generate reports and dashboards, document security risks, and manage IS security tickets. This position offers valuable insights into real-world cybersecurity issues and allows for collaboration with diverse teams and security partners.
The specific projects for this intern will be determined based on current trends and developments in the field, as it is a constantly evolving area. However, the primary focus will be on day-to-day security operations, as this is where many students seek to gain valuable real-world experience. Interns may engage in tasks such as monitoring security systems, assisting with incident response, or helping to enhance existing security protocols. This internship would best suit a student enrolled in one of the following degree programs: Computer Science, Information Systems, Information Technology, Cybersecurity or Data Analytics.
IS Information Security Internship is looking for intern to possess the following skills:
Basic Knowledge of Cybersecurity Principles: Understanding fundamental concepts such as firewalls, encryption, and threat detection.
Analytical Skills: Ability to assess and analyze security threats and vulnerabilities.
Technical Proficiency: Familiarity with software such as Excel and general IT knowledge, including networking and operating systems.
Problem-Solving Abilities: Capacity to identify issues and help develop practical solutions promptly.
Communication Skills: Strong written and verbal communication skills for documenting findings and collaborating with team members.
Attention to Detail: A meticulous approach to accurately handling security tasks and documenting processes.
Team Collaboration: Ability to work effectively as part of a team and contribute to group projects.
The working hours of this internship is Monday through Friday. The time will be 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Must be current undergraduate college student or graduate college student. Specific educational focus or degree may be preferred depending on the hosting department of the internship. Specific license and/or certification may be preferred depending on the hosting department of the internship. GPA of 3.0 or above Submission of Cover Letter Resume and Letter of Recommendation. Other qualifications may vary by department of internship.
