Job Description:
SUMMARY
Intern shall work under the direct supervision of the Program Manager - Utility Energy Engineering and Sustainability Services within the City of Fort Wayne Utilities Engineering Departments. The technical areas for which the candidate will provide assistance will include energy engineering and program marketing and promotion including but not limited to day-to-day activities.
The incumbent is expected to exercise good judgment, independence, initiative, and professional expertise in conducting day-to-day operations. All work duties and activities must be performed in accordance with City and department policies and procedures as well as federal, state, and local regulations.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Intern must have ability to interact with the public, City incumbents, and outside agencies with patience, tact, respect, and professionalism and the following.

Excellent written, oral, and communication skills including during presentations, meetings, telephone calls, and emails;
Maintain a high energy level and enthusiasm when engaging with the public regarding sustainability programs;
Assists with outreach, education, communication, and marketing for resource recovery and sustainability programs;
Assists with community events;
Assists with development of educational content and marketing materials to communicate information about sustainability programming;
Assists with general research, data tracking systems, filing systems;
