[JOB PURPOSE: [A. The purpose of the transportation program is to provide safe transportation of Club members and staff to and from designated Club locations of the Boys and Girls Clubs of Northeast Indiana (BGCNI)(Club) and sponsored field trips. [B. The Bus Driver is responsible for providing safe transport for Club members and staff to designated locations on schedule and an assigned route. [C. The Bus Driver interacts with Club children to ensure their safe transportation to the various locations. [This is accomplished through the effective performance of this job description with or without reasonable accommodations and with special attention to the application of the Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities. - Safety:
[Includes but not limited to the following: [1. Ensure passengers are seated and secured (seatbelts fastened if available) before moving the bus. [2. Ensure that members are supervised at all times while in transit. Greet them and manage their behavior during the bus ride. [3. Assist children with getting on and off the bus as needed. [4. Learn which members take their route and account for each child as they board and depart the bus. [5. Remind members of safety rules when sitting in their seats and exiting the bus. [6. No texting or phone use while the vehicle is moving or while stopped at intersections. [7. Obey all Indiana Department of Motor Vehicles regulations and traffic laws. - Vehicle Maintenance and Safety:
