Job Summary

The AFCAP V Middle East BOS Quality and HSE Specialist Implements health, safety and environmental policies, procedures and guidelines for the employee and department safety. Creates incident reports and performs inspections to ensure conformity in all areas of HSE. Interacts with services personnel, clients, subcontractors, and regulatory agencies to research and interpret standards, codes and regulations. Determines requisite for and organizes audits of company operated properties. Keeps informed of regulatory requirements and auditing standards. Assists in development and implementation of systems and standards to facilitate the capturing and analysis of HSE statistics. Under general supervision, solves complex problems requiring detailed knowledge of field and industry best practices. Uses experience and problem-solving skills to develop and improve processes. May provide guidance to less experienced team members.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Manage the quality, health, safety, and environmental management program and improve the customer journey by developing and employing oversight techniques, training, statistical methods, assessments, and other QHSE tools.

  • Coach, mentor, and develop team members.

  • Ensure work condition requirements are met by leading audit/inspection reports and making recommendations/presentations to leadership for corrective/preventive and continuous improvement actions.

  • Develop and lead the implementation of performance evaluation and prediction methods to improve product systems and services' safety, reliability, and maintainability.

  • Assess and validate required standards for project execution contractually while verifying that standards are met for every deliverable.

  • Align QHSE function with product/service performance needs to ensure that product/service lines deliver value to customers.

  • Facilitate, analyze, and solve complex problems using business improvement and value-added practices.

  • Use experience and problem-solving skills to develop and improve processes while mentoring Project team members.

  • Guide less experienced team members across all levels of the project, as needed.

  • The selected candidate will be stationed in UAE and balance site visits across Kuwait, UAE, and Saudi Arabia.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

    MATERIAL & EQUIPMENT DIRECTLY USED:

  • May be exposed to potentially hazardous conditions that require wear of hard hats, gloves, steel toed boots, hearing protection, safety glasses and other personal protection equipment (PPE); may be required to push, pull, and lift heavy equipment.

  • Use of Land Mobile Radios, cell phones, laptops, and other devices to maintain contact and accountability of work activities.

    WORKING ENVIRONMENT:

  • Work will be indoors and outdoors.

  • Exposure to heat, cold, dust, noise, chemicals may occur.

  • Overtime and shift work may be required depending on contractual needs as well as occasional to frequent travel.

  • Employees must comply with all Federal, State and Local regulations and published Company work rules as well as written instructions.

  • Task specific work environment training may be provided.

  • Must be prepared to function in a wartime or contingency environment to support U.S. interests.

  • PHYSICAL ACTIVITIES:

  • Physical requirements include lifting up to 35lb, team lifting up to 50lbs, climbing, extended sitting, or standing, stooping, stretching, and bending.

  • Work may require using and wearing personal protective equipment such as hearing and eye protection, hard hat and steel-toed boots as well as Individual Protective Equipment (IPE).

  • Day-to-day physical requirements may involve standard office activities including sitting/standing for extended periods of time, attending meetings, use of keyboard and mouse repetitively, lifting and carrying less than 20 lbs. frequently, etc.

  • Work requires moderate physical exertion including walking to operating areas and walking upstairs.

Basic Qualifications

  • Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience

  • 5+ years QHSE experience (industry-specific experience is a plus)

  • Certifications are an advantage, including ASQ, Lean and Six Sigma, Project Management, etc.

  • Must be able to pass a background check and obtain Secret Clearance.

Skills:

  • Experience with the development and implementation of corrective and preventive action, audit, and continuous improvement programs

  • In-depth knowledge of tools, concepts, and methodologies of Quality and Project Management

  • In-depth knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (PowerPoint, Excel, Word, Visio, SharePoint)
