Nature of Work
Plan, coordinate and direct the quality assurance program to ensure projects are completed on time and to specifications. Develop standards and procedures and direct quality control staff in project and subcontractor evaluation. Conduct appropriate tests and inspections to ensure code compliance (ASME). Assist project manager and superintendent to ensure proper planning, layout and material procurement have occurred.Travel is required for this role with a home base at Ft. Leonard Wood.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Develop understanding/working knowledge of company quality control program, company standards, procedures, codes, etc. required to perform assigned work.
- Supervise subcontractors, project and material inspections to ensure proper workmanship, as well as code/specification compliance.
- Provide administrative and technical direction to all quality control personnel - includes personnel administration, resolution of technical problems, development/approval of in-house training, etc.
- Supervise maintenance of work performance records, inspection records and other related items; ensure correctness of all documents.
- Review subcontractor\'s submittals, schedules meetings, as required, with subcontractors, owners, etc.
- Act as liaison with owner, regulatory agencies, subcontractors and/or internal departments on quality related matters as required.
- Assist in coordinating quality control inspection schedules with other department schedules.
- Initiate and ensure adequate corrective measures are implemented in cases of noncompliance.
- Review design documents for contract compliance
- Exercise initiative or, as directed, perform additional duties to meet the needs of the organization.
Supervisory Responsibilities
- Directly supervises one or more employees and carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization\'s policies and applicable laws.

Education
- A minimum of a Bachelor\'s degree from a four-year college/university or equivalent experience.
- May require contract specific education and/or experience
Experience
- Five to ten years or more of related work experience required
Physical Demands and Working Environment
Physical demands for this position can be heavy. Typically the employee may sit comfortably to do the work. However, there may be walking, standing, bending or moving of heavy (25-100 pounds) items. The work may require specific but common physical characteristics and abilities such as above-average agility and dexterity
Work Environment
Standard project site environment that may include machinery, parts and chemicals. May require protective gear.
