U.S. Army Training and Doctrine Command Training Instructor (BOLC) in Fort Sill, Oklahoma

Summary About the Position: Serves as a Training Instructor (BOLC) for 1st Battalion, 30th Field Artillery, and 428thField Responsibilities Serve as Training Instructor for Basic Officer Leader Course (BOLC). Prepare the daily work plan for each phase of each training session. Presents course material in accordance with (IAW) Training and Doctrine Command (TRADOC) Regulations (TR) 350-70, TR 350-18, and TR 350-70-5 and Programs of Instruction (POI). Ensure that training facilities and equipment are available and operational for proper instruction as needed. Participate in planning, conducting, reviewing, and evaluating of BOLC activities. Manage and order all publications and training materials for the battalion from the Army Publishing Directorate. Coordinate with other Instructors to ensure the BOLC B (POI) is kept up to date with the course model, resources, student to instructor ratios, equipment to instructor ratios, lesson plans, field training time, and practical exercises. Conduct semi-annual review and update to determine necessary revisions and/or abolishment of current regulations and need for the establishment of new ones. Maintain the FA BOLC B class schedule template, master and weekly training schedule based on the Course Map and Instructor guidance. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience that demonstrates a practical knowledge of the subject area of the position and of the methods and techniques of instruction which includes the following: Updating training materials for courses; preparing training schedules for input into training database; maintaining training data to include course purpose, scope and prerequisites for courses; applying working knowledge of courses to recommend modifications to course and/or course content based on changes in subject matter or equipment. OR Education: Master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree with a major study in education or a subject area related to the position to be filled. OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the first year (total graduate semester hours minus 18) by 18. Add the two percentages. You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Education / Training Program Administration Instructional Delivery and Learner Development Manages and Organizes Information Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-?07).
