Summary About the Position: Serves as Military Personnel Clerk performing a variety of tasks pertinent to the preparation and maintenance of financial and personnel records for new military personnel including Initial Entry Training (IET), English as a Second Language (ESL), Advanced Individual Training (AIT), and Prior Service. May be required to assist in the training/cross-training of newly assigned employees and Soldiers. Responsibilities Downloads data from Information Systems Module (ISM) and transfers file to create special reports. Utilizes office automation/computer equipment to key in data from a variety of sources. Sorts and assembles forms into proper sequence for filing in the Military Personnel Records Jacket (201 file). Research documents in order to gather information and verify data necessary to the establishment of the 201 file and financial records. Responsible for the initial propagation of data into the Reception Battalion Automated Support System (RECBASS) using numerous source documents. Serves as Military Personnel Clerk performing a variety of tasks pertinent to the preparation and maintenance of financial and personnel records for Military Recep tees. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes the following: 1) Interpret and apply the rules, regulations and procedures related to military personnel; 2) Perform a variety of procedural and clerical work; and 3) Use various office automation systems. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-04). OR Education: Four years of education above the high school level obtained in an accredited business, secretarial or technical school, junior college, college or university. OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide your semester hours of education beyond two years (total semester hours minus 60) by 60.
