Asphalt Screed Operator
Summary
:
Morris, Inc. is seeking a driven individual to operate the screed for asphalt laydown operations and to complete the duties including, but not limited to, those listed below.
Requirements
:
- Knowledge and experience with asphalt operations and machinery
- Dependable and able to follow instructions carefully
- Physically capable of performing manual labor and lifting up to 75 lbs
Essential Duties and Requirements
:
- Perform all pre-start inspection and maintenance procedures.

``` - Adjusting the screed angle and depth to ensure a uniform application of asphalt across the paving area

``` - Checking for mat thickness, grade and quality specifications
```{=html}
``` - Thorough understanding of all aspects of asphalt paving including prep work, grades, drainage, paving patterns, aggregate size, compaction and other specifications related to the asphalt industry.

``` - Ability to work with paver operator and dump trucks to ensure a quality product

``` - Calculate asphalt tons needed for project, communicate with superintendent and plant manager during planning and mix delivery.
Perform other duties as assigned.
