Florida SouthWestern State College Professor, Digital Art, Creative Technologies, and Fine Art in Fort Myers, Florida
The School of Arts Humanities and Social Sciences at Florida SouthWestern State College seeks a Digital Art Professor with expertise in interactive design and time-based media. This position will be integral in expanding the digital arts program. The ideal candidate will be a practicing exhibiting artist /designer who will bring diverse ideas about educating technological creatives for an ever-changing future.
Arts@FSW has a strong record supporting faculty research, international study, and integrating creative scholarship and professional practice in course development. FSW State College has an expansive, eager to learn student body and is home of Bob Rauschenberg Gallery (https://www.RauschenbergGallery.com) in beautiful Southwest Florida. Located in one of Florida’s fastest growing areas we are looking for a candidate that can help build upon a strong foundation focused on the fine arts to teach existing art courses, expand studio art opportunities for students, and develop a creative learning environment focused on interdisciplinary teaching.
We are seeking dynamic candidates committed to teaching and fostering creative exploration, conceptual thinking and interdisciplinary collaboration. Candidates will have the ability to teach in two or more of the following areas: Artificial Intelligence, Game Design, Web Design, Graphic Arts, and Digital Art and Animation. The ideal candidate:
Qualified candidates should have a terminal graduate degree in the fields of digital art, digital media, graphic design, creative technologies, or a closely related degree. The successful candidates will have the ability to teach digital art and media with an emphasis on both fine art and creative industries. Candidates should demonstrate a professional record of work in Fine Art, Experiential Design, or Interactive Computing. Our ideal candidate will have a demonstrated ability to teach digital art with a commitment to interdisciplinary arts teaching and education.
Candidates will have expertise in one or more areas: emerging technologies, graphic arts, digital fabrication, VR/AR, experiential design, interactivity, web design, coding, and internet art. A strong background in traditional studio arts and/or industry experience is desirable.

Salary Range: $51,976.01 – $61,643.90 (for two terms): the maximum salary is based on a doctorate education level and 10 years of verifiable full-time teaching experience. Salary will be determined at the hire date.
This position is expected to start in August 2025, with interviews commencing in Spring 2025.
