Viaero Wireless Safety Program Manager in Fort Morgan, Colorado
The Safety Program Manager is responsible for developing policy and training meant to ensure the wellbeing of employees, contractors, and customers and to ensure compliance with applicable regulations and standards including security and OSHA compliance. They will document and investigate accidents or injuries, provide records or evidence required for work comp and agency inquires. They'll also file work comp reports, follow up notes and create back to work documentation. They will oversee delivery of training, documentation, and track participation for each division. This role demonstrates professionalism, efficiency, and equality as it relates to communicating and enforcing safety policies and leading work crews and contractors to adhere to safety standards in the field. In this position you will spend time in the field and on-site supervising jobs to ensure crews and contractors are following established safety standards. This person will be part of our Human Resources department, based in Fort Morgan, Colorado.
Role and Responsibilities
Establish and monitor health & safety programs and procedures in conjunction with Human Resources and key leaders, and ensure procedures are up to industry standards. Develop and deliver various safety trainings on policies, procedures, and relevant OSHA topics. Develop and facilitate train the trainer for new hire training to ensure the understanding of safety standards, best practices and policies and verify safety standards in the field. Oversee the coordination of training sessions including facility arrangements, class materials, class schedules, tracking and documentation of completion. Develop and maintain safety observation data in company tracking systems. Assist with investigations and documentation for incidents, including injuries and near misses; confer with department heads so corrective measures can be reviewed and implemented. Recommend and implement corrective actions as needed following safety violations and accident investigations. Assist with information needed to file workers compensation claims and modified duty plan. Perform and document monthly safety audits and assist managers in communicating safe practices and corrective action to the field team. Maintain safety files, training records and ensure certifications and necessary documents are presented to HR to be included in personnel file of each employee. Maintain Hazard Communication Program and Safety Data Sheets. Perform additional duties as assigned. Qualifications and Education Requirements
Qualified candidates should have a minimum of 3-5 years of construction/workplace safety and training experience Prior experience in the Telecommunications is strongly preferred Ability to collaborate with department heads on safety and training needs Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communications skills Ability to create and write both policies and standard operating procedures Ability to gain buy-in from employees relative to safe and healthy workplace practices Obtain and maintain relevant certifications (First Aid/CPR/OSHA 30 Safety Training) Must be proficient in Microsoft Office including Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook. Must be comfortable leading trainings and speaking in front of a group
