SAIC Systems Engineer in FORT MEADE, Maryland
Description
SAIC’s National Intelligence Community (NIC) business unit provides Information Technology, Engineering, and Mission solutions and services supporting digital modernization programs in areas such as cloud, cyber, data, AI/ML, and software.
We seek Systems Engineers to provide System Engineering and Technical Assistance (SETA) services in conducting acquisition and technical support activities in Fort Meade, Md. Those supporting this new program will create and/or adopt innovative IT solutions and development through the use of both government and industry tools/software. Aggressively work to reduce/eliminate legacy systems by transitioning their key capabilities to modernized tools and technical debt from services. Embrace a future where capabilities and solutions are deployed across a variety of networks and environments, at varying levels of classifications. Staffing for this program will begin in January 2024.
The successful candidate is experienced with applying systems engineering principles throughout the systems life cycle phases: Concept, Development, Production, Utilization, Support, and Retirement. Interacts with the Government regarding Systems Engineering technical considerations and for associated problems, issues or conflicts. Communicates with other program personnel, government overseers, and senior executives. Responsibility for the technical integrity, quality, and completeness of work performed and deliverables associated.
Responsibilities:
Contributes to the development of sections of systems engineering documentation such as System Engineering Plans, Initial Capabilities Documents, Requirements specifications, and Interface Control Documents
Manages system requirements and derived requirements to ensure the delivery of production systems that are compatible with the defined system architecture(s) – Department of Defense Architecture Framework (DoDAF), Service-oriented Architecture
Assists with the allocation of the same to individual hardware, software, facility, and personnel component
Coordinates the resolution of action items from Configuration Control Board (CCB) meetings, design reviews, program reviews, and test reviews that require cross-discipline coordination
Perform analysis of technical alternatives for a project and make preliminary recommendations
Qualifications
Active TS/SCI with polygraph clearance
TYPICAL EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Bachelors and nine (9) years or more experience; Masters and seven (7) years or more experience ; PhD or JD and four (4) years or more experience
Target salary range: $160,001 - $200,000. The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
