U.S. Marine Corps SAFETY AND OCCUPATIONAL HEALTH SPECIALIST in Fort Meade, Maryland

Summary You will serve as a SAFETY AND OCCUPATIONAL HEALTH SPECIALIST in the G4 of U S MARINE FORCES CYBERSPACE COMMAND. Responsibilities You will plan, schedule, and conduct inspections of safety programs. You will collect, analyze, and disseminate data concerning the accident experience of the command and subordinate units. You will conduct independent and joint risk management studies for operations/exercises, analyze mishap experience and assist others with risk management decisions on own initiative or as directed by the supervisor. You will research, study, and evaluate operations and risks, and identify/develop methods/techniques to control/eliminate hazardous conditions which occur during operations and exercises. You will review, investigate, and respond to all command level OSHA or safety complaints. You will deliver briefs and lead initiatives to expand workforce awareness on issues such as safety, health, and welfare, and operational stress. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications Applicants must have directly applicable experience that demonstrates the possession of knowledge, skills, abilities, and competencies necessary for immediate success in the position. Qualifying experience may have been acquired in any public or private sector job, but will clearly demonstrate past experience in the application of the particular competencies or knowledge, skills and abilities necessary to successfully perform the duties of the position. Such experience is typically in or directly relates to the work of the position to be filled. Qualifying experience would be demonstrated by Evaluation and analysis of unit safety programs and providing guidance for resolution of problems concerning hazardous conditions. This position is within the Work Category PROFESSIONAL at Work Level FULL PERFORMANCE, Series and Grade GG-0018-11. Additional Information This position is a DoD Cyber Excepted Service (CES) personnel system position in the Excepted Service under 10 U.S.C. 1599f.
