Summary This position is being recruited under 10 USC 1599f into the Cyber Excepted Service and does NOT convey eligibility to be converted to the Competitive Service. It has been identified as a position necessary to carry out and support the mission of the US Cyber Command. It is in the Professional Work Category at the Expert Work Level within the CES Occupational Structure. It is located in the DISA JOINT FORCE HEADQUARTERS - DODIN. Responsibilities Participates in or leads the prioritization and direction of global and/or theater-specific DODIN Cyber Operations (DCO) response actions to cybersecurity events. Supports crisis action planning by providing situational information environment awareness with a primary focus on contingency operations. Monitors performance of global networks and systems. Track and document cyber defense incidents from initial detection through final resolution. Develops priorities and objectives to ensure timely resolution of events/incidents/problems and provides timely, accurate, and relevant situational awareness to local leadership and impacted customers. Battle Captain for the Joint Force Headquarters - Department of Defense Information Network (JFHQ DODIN) Operations Center (JDOC) in the daily management of a 24/7/365 operations center. Focused on the Command and Control (C2), synchronization and de-confliction of DODIN Operations. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications In order to qualify for this position, you must meet the requirements described below. Qualifying Experience: To qualify at the GG-13, your resume must describe at least one year of experience that demonstrates the competencies necessary for immediate success in the position. Experience refers to any paid or unpaid experience, including volunteer work and Military service, that would be considered equivalent to work normally performed at the next lower grade level in the federal service. For this position, qualifying experience is defined as: Experience in Information Systems Network Security including Analyzing network alerts from various sources within the enterprise and determine possible causes of such alerts, Coordinating incident response functions, Monitoring external data sources (e.g., cyber defense vendor sites, Computer Emergency Response Teams, Security Focus) to maintain currency of cyber defense threat condition and determine which security issues may have an impact on the enterprise, AND Performing cyber defense trend analysis and reporting. It is being recruited under 10 U.S.C. 1599f into the Cyber Excepted Service (CES) personnel system. If you are a current Federal Career/Career-Conditional employee, you will be placed on an Excepted appointment. This appointment does not confer eligibility to be non-competitively converted to an appointment in the competitive service. A three-year trial period may be required if you have not previously completed a trial or probationary period in the excepted or competitive service. Incumbent will be required to report to work or relocate to a new duty location, within the United States, in times of local/national emergency.
