Are you a passionate and skilled ICU Nurse looking for a rewarding opportunity? Spectrum Healthcare Resources is seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse to join the Intensive Care Unit at Madigan Army Medical Center in Tacoma, WA! This is your chance to provide life-saving care to the newest members of military families while working in a collaborative and mission-driven environment. Job Requirements: Degree/Education: Associates Degree of Nursing. Graduate from a college or university accredited by National League for Nursing Accrediting Commission (NLNAC), or The Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE). Experience: One year of experience in nursing Licensure/Registration: Current, full, active, and unrestricted license to practice as a Registered Nurse Certifications in addition to Basic Life Support: Current Healthcare (HCP) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification using American Heart Association or American Red Cross guidelines. Also required to have Advanced Life Support requirements- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS). Certification granted based solely on computer-based training does not constitute fulfillment of this requirement. Core Duties: Float to cover any following areas: Surgical Intensive Care Unit, Medical Intensive Care Unit, Cardiac Care Unit, Emergency Room, Medical / Surgical Units, Stepdown Unit, Spinal Cord Injury Unit, and Extended Care Unit Services Collaborate with a diverse healthcare team including physicians, nurse practitioners, and physician assistants to coordinate inpatient care, ensuring optimal clinical outcomes, quality, and cost-effectiveness. Uphold patient rights and dignity throughout. Conduct physical examinations, obtain health histories, and manage patient records including medical documentation and correspondence. Serve as a liaison between medical staff members, handling communications efficiently. Administer medications, perform wound care, and implement personalized interventions including dysrhythmia recognition, arterial blood gas interpretation, and hemodynamic pressure assessment. Respond adeptly to emergency situations, initiating life-saving measures when necessary. Provide nursing services such as arterial punctures, blood draws from invasive monitoring lines, and assistance with temporary pacemaker insertion. Interpret laboratory values, manage patients with specialized equipment like Swan-Ganz catheters and mechanical ventilators, and administer inhalation therapy treatments with knowledge of relevant medications. Communicate effectively with diverse stakeholders to inform healthcare plans, educate patients and families, and support organizational goals. Offer health promotion, counseling, and education to patients. Utilize basic computer skills to input and retrieve patient data from various DOD government medical platforms such as the Military Health System (MHS) Electronic Health Record (EHR) GENESIS.
