Description

Position Summary:

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Cybersecurity Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for protecting the organization’s digital assets and infrastructure by implementing and managing advanced security solutions. As a Cybersecurity Engineer, you will work closely with other IT teams to identify vulnerabilities, respond to incidents, and ensure compliance with industry standards and best practices.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, implement, and maintain security infrastructure, including firewalls, intrusion detection systems (IDS), intrusion prevention systems (IPS), and VPN solutions.

  • Monitor and analyze security events, network traffic, and vulnerabilities to identify potential threats.

  • Conduct security assessments, penetration testing, and risk analysis to identify system vulnerabilities.

  • Develop, implement, and enforce security policies, procedures, and controls to safeguard sensitive data and systems.

  • Collaborate with IT and development teams to integrate security solutions into system architectures and application code.

  • Investigate and respond to security incidents, coordinating with incident response teams to mitigate threats and perform root cause analysis.

  • Conduct regular security audits and compliance assessments to ensure adherence to industry standards (e.g., NIST, ISO 27001, SOC 2).

  • Stay up-to-date with the latest cybersecurity trends, threats, and technologies, and provide recommendations for improving overall security posture.

  • Assist with the design and implementation of disaster recovery plans and business continuity processes.

  • Provide training and support to internal teams on security best practices and awareness.

Requirements

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).

  • Proven experience in a cybersecurity engineering or related role.

  • Strong knowledge of security technologies and protocols, including firewalls, VPNs, IDS/IPS, and endpoint security solutions.

  • Experience with cloud security (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP) and securing cloud-based infrastructures.

  • Familiarity with penetration testing, vulnerability assessments, and risk management frameworks.

  • Hands-on experience with security information and event management (SIEM) tools and network monitoring.

  • Knowledge of regulatory standards and frameworks (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA, PCI-DSS, SOC 2).

  • Proficient in scripting languages (e.g., Python, PowerShell, Bash) to automate security tasks.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Certifications such as CISSP, CISM, CEH, CompTIA Security+, or similar cybersecurity credentials.

  • Experience with threat hunting and advanced persistent threat (APT) detection techniques.

  • Knowledge of incident response methodologies and tools.

  • Experience with DevSecOps practices and securing CI/CD pipelines.

  • Familiarity with machine learning techniques used in cybersecurity.
