Roles and Responsibilities:
Operate all wheel vehicles and equipment over varied terrain and roadways for support of operations.
Drive a truck to transport materials, merchandise, equipment, or workers between various types of establishments such as warehouses, open storage lots, maintenance facilities, training areas, and secures cargo against inclement weather, pilferage, and damage.
Driver may also load or unload truck with or without assistance, tie down stacks to prevent shifting, make minor mechanical repairs, and keep truck in good working order.
Operate vehicle component handling equipment (MHE) as required.
Must be knowledgeable with the operation of tactical radios and perform vehicle self-recovery and field expedient to include towing vehicles.
Corrects or reports all vehicle deficiencies, supports mechanics where necessary.
Prepares vehicles for movement/shipment by air, rail, or vessel if required.
Organizes and participates in convoys, dispatched vehicles, verified logbooks, receives, and fills request from authorized persons for motor support, and compiles time, mileage, and load data.
May operate vehicles such as the Heavy Expanded Mobility Tactical Transport (HEMETT), Heavy Equipment Transporter (HET), and Palletized Loading System (PLS) vehicle to include performing self-recovery operations.
Will also conduct setup and teardown of FARP operations in support of the training program and gunnery operations.
Must be able to work in different shift as required and be able to travel as needed.
Must be able to move safely about in a maintenance environment and be able to sit, stand, squat, walk, and talk for extended periods of time.
Candidate will be exposed to extreme weather conditions (heat, cold, rain), and will be subject to loud noises, exhaust fumes, and dust.
We can replace those bullets with these for a Fueler position:
Receive, transport, and store bulk fuels
Operated equipment associated with petroleum distribution systems and multi-product pipeline systems, issued and dispensed bulk fuels from storage and distribution facilities and bulk tank tactical vehicles to the customer as missions dictated.
Extract and submit POL samples to the installation laboratory for testing.
Perform petroleum accounting duties, conduct daily fueling and defueling of vehicles, aircraft, and stationary equipment.
Basic Qualifications:
High School Diploma
4 years’ experience as a Fuel Handler and Heavy Truck Driver
Must have a Texas Driver’s License
Must have a Class A CDL and X Endorsement
Must have the Fort Cavazos Fuel Handling with HAZMET Endorsement qualification or have the ability to complete the course requirements.
Must be able to communicate succinctly with customer and client
No clearance required
Must be able to lift to 25 pounds or more
Must be willing to travel between North Fort Cavazos and West Fort Cavazos daily
