Army Installation Management Command Supervisory Program Specialist (CYS) NF-03 in Fort Greely, Alaska
Summary This position is with CYS Middle School/Teen Programs at Fort Greely, Alaska. Position is Mission and Weather Essential. Incumbent is entitled to 3.21 % Cost of Living Allowance (COLA). Responsibilities Serves as a CYS Services Supervisory Program Specialist with responsibility for supervising a minimum of 8 ratios of children 0 - 5 in a Child Development Center (Ages 0-5) or 6 ratios of children/youth in a School-Age Program or Youth Center IAW. Works in-ratio 50% of the time providing breaks for assigned staff, modeling appropriate behavior, and providing program oversight and accountability during all hours of program operation. Assists Director with requests for recruitments utilizing Army CYS Standard Position Descriptions. Supervises and evaluates employees based on established performance standards as required. Ensures timely submission of personnel actions. Prepares work schedules to meet ratio and group size requirements. Monitors and analyzes adult/participant ratio sheets to ensure proper staffing. Ensures children/youth are appropriately supervised at all times. Acts as Director in Director's absence up to 20% of the time. May work in additional CYS facilities for the purposes of providing management oversight for evening or weekend openings. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications Eligible Flex-10, Regular Part-Time and Regular-Full Time selectees may receive $2000.00! In addition, employees may also be eligible for: -Discounted fees and Priority childcare slots -On post commissary privileges -Access to DFMWR Facilities such as fitness programs, bowling center, outdoor recreation, etc. (QUAL 1) Successful completion of a bachelor's degree or higher that included or was supplemented by major study (at least 24 semester hours) in the fields appropriate to the position consistent with: Education must have been directly related to the position to be filled (general psychology/sociology courses are not qualifying). -For positions in Youth Facilities: The education must have been in youth development, youth administration, education, home economics, physical education, elementary education, special education or other fields appropriate to the position to be filled such as directly related behavioral science. For positions in School-Age facilities, the education must have been in any of the fields above. OR (QUAL 2) A combination of education and experience - courses equivalent to a major in a subject matter field (24 semester hours) appropriate to the position (see above), plus appropriate experience or additional course work that provided knowledge comparable to that normally acquired through the successful completion of the four-year course of study described above. In addition to meeting one of the requirements above (QUAL 1 or QUAL 2), candidate must also possess all of the following: 1. Experience supervising or leading caregivers within child/youth facility-based programs. 2. Experience managing a classroom setting within child and youth programs. 3. Experience implementing and overseeing a structured child and youth program curriculum. 4. Demonstrated verbal communication skills gained through conducting training, delivering presentations, conducting meetings with parents and/or staff, or similar. Pay-Band (NF or CY) Allowances and Differentials This is a pay-banded position. Sunday premium pay may be authorized by the Garrison Commander. If authorized, only regular (full-time, part-time, limited tenure and seasonal) employees may be paid Sunday premium pay. When authorized, Sunday premium will be paid at the rate of 25% of the basic rate for all hours of non-overtime, when any part of the scheduled tour of duty is performed on Sunday (to a maximum of 8 hours per Sunday). Night differential may be authorized by the Garrison Commander.
