Army Installation Management Command Laborer (Special Events) NA-02 in Fort Drum, New York

Summary This position is for Directorate of Family and Morale, Welfare and Recreation (FMWR) at Fort Drum, New York. FMWR includes Child and Youth Services, Business Recreation, and Support Services, which enable Soldier readiness, support the resiliency and well-being of Soldiers and Families. Responsibilities Responsible for providing operational support to activities who provides support to customers in various scheduled events and functions. Responsible for conference room configuration, beginning with organizing tables, chairs, audio/video equipment from storage to actual setup of this furniture/equipment in accordance with established banquet/special event orders. Loads and unloads equipment and furniture, moves materials using hand trucks or dollies; stacks and arranges for storage. Moves heavy items of furniture and office equipment as required for the applicable conference/meeting set up. Performs duties alone or as a member of a work crew. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications All candidates MUST meet the following minimum qualifications: at least three (3) months experience performing laborer duties, AND knowledge of operating simple power equipment and hand tools such as steam cleaners and vacuums, AND knowledge of performing routine maintenance procedures for equipment (e.g. visual check of the equipment, limited lubrication, cleaning/replacing air filters, refueling, etc.), AND ability to understand and follow oral instructions, AND ability to read and write in order to prepare required forms, AND ability to follow written guidelines and/or instructions. AND ability to perform simple manual duties (ex: moving equipment, objects weighing 40 lbs. etc.). PCS Costs Payment Permanent Change of Station (PCS) costs are not authorized, based on a determination that a PCS move is not in the Government's interest. FWS Allowances and Differentials This is a federal wage schedule (FWS) position. All FWS employees are entitled to overtime work for work in excess of 8 hours in a day or in excess of 40 hours in the administrative workweek, whichever provides the greater benefit to the employee. Regular full-time, regular part-time (to include those in a limited tenure appointment category) and regularly scheduled flexible employees are entitled to Sunday premium pay when working Sunday shifts. A FWS employee will be paid a night shift differential of 7.5% for the entire shift when a majority of the employee's regularly scheduled non-overtime hours of work occur between the hours of 1500 and 2400. A FWS employee will be paid a night shift differential of 10% of the scheduled rate if a majority of the employee's regularly scheduled non-overtime hours of work occur between the hours of 2300-0800. Incentives and Bonuses Incentives will not be paid. Non-Foreign Overseas Allowances Non-foreign overseas allowances, cost of living (COLA), and differentials will NOT be paid.
