City Of Fort Collins Human Resources Transfort Dispatcher, Supervisor in Fort Collins, Colorado

The Dispatch Supervisor will supervise daily dispatch operations for transit services for the City of Fort Collins. They will schedule, monitor, and ensure the safe, timely, and efficient delivery of Transfort bus services in accordance with best practices, policies, and programs. The Dispatch Supervisor resolves daily operational issues to meet service commitments through efficient exception management and effective communication skills. This position will provide strong team leadership and strategic direction for the dispatch team, managing accurate and timely communications to internal and external customers. The Dispatch Supervisor will deliver exceptional customer service to internal and external customers and actively participate in the development of operational policies and procedures.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Create, maintain, and protect a culture of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion. Evaluate, mentor, and coach team members, fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture. Create and/or oversee bus operator and dispatch schedules. Seeking ways to innovate and evolve schedules to increase work-life satisfaction, engagement, and retention of dispatch employees and bus operators. Provide exceptional customer service by proactively conveying policies, procedures, routes, and schedule information to stakeholders. Investigate and assist in correcting system disruptions that affect normal operations. Coordinate transportation for special promotional events at a strategic level. Monitor and ensure daily route performance; resolve service and operational problems to meet service commitments. Coordinate emergency communications regarding collisions, injuries, weather, and other emergency events. Ensure compliance with Department of Transportation Regulations, Federal Transit Administration regulations, State and Local Laws, City of Fort Collins Policies and Procedures, and Transfort Policies and Procedures. Focus on strategic initiatives that enhance the work-life satisfaction, engagement, and retention of bus operators. Lead process improvements and innovation efforts to elevate overall operational efficiency and effectiveness. Provide expertise in navigating transit software and reporting programs, specifically Trapeze and Clever Devices preferred. Provide regular, accurate reports to the management team, stakeholders, and municipal partners. Develop and implement training for both new hires and ongoing professional development. Maintain a harassment-free workplace at all times. Expand and integrate the use of emerging technologies and software tools. Participate in the creation and implementation of operational policies and procedures, collaborating closely with higher-level management and other departments. Engage in community outreach programs and public relations efforts as needed. Management Responsibilities
