Description of Work Unit
The Microbiology, Immunology and Pathology ( MIP ) Department is comprised of over 400 individuals who share a common passion for solving some of the most important human and animal health problems today. Research programs include those related to mycobacteria, retroviruses, prions, and arthropod-borne infectious diseases, as well as the diagnostic investigation of naturally-occurring animal diseases. A leader in education, MIP provides the only microbiology undergraduate degree program in Colorado, a graduate program that provides training in a number of cutting-edge disciplines, and several specialized veterinary residency training programs.

Position Summary
Temporary Postdoctoral Fellow positions may become available throughout the year in the Department of Microbiology, Immunology and Pathology in the area of Veterinary Pathology research. The projected postdoctoral positions would involve project planning, data acquisition, data analysis and manuscript preparation. Pathology of infectious diseases in animals and animal models are major areas of research emphasis in the Department.

Required Job Qualifications
- Applicants must have a doctoral or equivalent degree in Microbiology, Immunology, Biology, Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, Veterinary Pathology, Epidemiology, Entomology or closely related field at time of hire.
Preferred Job Qualifications
- Knowledge or experience in veterinary pathology demonstrated in submitted application materials.
