Description of Work Unit

Colorado State University ( CSU ) is Colorado’s land grant institution and holds the Doctoral/Research University – Extensive classification (R1) from the Carnegie Commission on Higher Education. Founded in 1870, CSU enrolls approximately 32,000 undergraduate, graduate, and professional students. The Department of Occupational Therapy is one of eight academic programs in the College of Health and Human Sciences. The Department’s mission is to optimize human performance and participation in everyday occupations and contexts across the life span. U.S. News & World Report ranks the program among the top-ten in the U.S.

We offer an entry-level OTD and a PhD in Occupation and Rehabilitation Science. Consistent with CSU’s culture of excellence, faculty in the Department have an established record of innovative education, research, and community-based practice and engagement. In addition to the academic unit, the Department comprises two outreach and research arms: the Assistive Technology Resource Center and the Center for Community Partnerships.

CSU is housed in Fort Collins, situated on the Front Range of the Rocky Mountains. Located approximately an hour north of the Denver metro area, Fort Collins is a vibrant community of approximately 170,000 residents. Position Summary

Nine-month, tenure track regular full-time faculty member at the rank of Assistant Professor to conduct and disseminate research; teach and mentor occupational therapy graduate ( OTD & PhD) students and provide service to the Department, College and University.

Required Job Qualifications

• Evidence of commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging

• Evidence of interdisciplinary collaboration

• Record of dissemination of scholarly work

• Record of experience in, or demonstrated potential for, university-level teaching

• Earned research doctorate or doctorate with a strong emphasis in research

• Entry-level degree in occupational therapy from an ACOTE or WFOT -accredited program

Preferred Job Qualifications

• Experience in implementation science or interdisciplinary research

• Experience teaching/conducting qualitative research, quantitative research, and/or teaching the neurological underpinnings of occupation

• Commitment to building a focused program of research as evidenced by attempts to obtain intramural and/or extramural funding to support scholarship

• Record of mentoring students in a research capacity

• Record of university-level teaching innovation

• Eligible for licensure as an occupational therapist in Colorado
