Akima Supply Technician I in Fort Cavazos, Texas
SAVA is in search of a supply chain professional to join our family as a Supply Technician I (OTC) to provide logistical support for shipping, receiving, inventory and storage for the Army Test and Evaluation Command (ATEC) at Fort Cavazos, Texas. Responsibilities
Perform warehousing duties in accordance with prescribed storage plans. Receive, store, and issue materials and supplies from supply resources. Verify materials against receiving documentation and document any discrepancies or damage
Route materials to Government furnished storage bunkers or other prescribed locations, coordinating any transportation requirements
Coordinate and expedite the movements of managed items and materials, both on post and from outside sources
Follow established procedures to ensure that all materials are stored safely and securely. Store, stack or palletize materials Implement first-in, first-out storage procedures to maximize shelf life. Examine stored materials periodically and report deterioration and damage
Perform inventories of stored and/or hand-receipted materials as directed. Identify condition of inventoried items, to be used in survey action assessment.
Report any evidence of loss, damage, or destruction of Government property to supervisor
Prepare items for shipment and ensure appropriate and effective packing in conjunction with coordinating transport
Operate a hand and/or power trucks as necessary to perform warehousing tasks
Operate personal computers, typewriters, and calculators to maintain and/or establish inventory and shipping/receiving records
Follow established procedures to ensure achievement of quality, safety and security standards
Perform other duties as required, which may include:
Accomplishing assigned tasks in closely related fields
Responding to changes in work schedules and/or locations
Supporting other sections on the ITSS contract
Participating in formal, on-the-job, and cross-training
Qualifications
Active Secret security clearance
High School Diploma/GED and 2 years of experience working in a warehouse or in a logistics or supply related discipline, or AA degree in a directly related field and 1 year of experience
Must be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
Valid driver’s license
Physical requirements include but are not limited to the ability to lift 50 pounds, pushing, pulling, carrying, stooping, bending, squatting and reaching
Desired Qualifications:
Class A Commercial Driver’s License (CDL)
Outstanding customer service and communication skills
Ability to work in a team environment and independently
Ability to adhere to government policies and requirements
