Defense Health Agency Health System Specialist in Fort Belvoir, Virginia
Summary About the Position: This position is located on Fort Belvoir, Virginia. This is a Direct Hire Solicitation A recruitment or relocation incentive may be authorized. Student Loan repayment may be authorized. Salary negotiation may be available for those candidates who are new to Federal service. Responsibilities Serve as a Health System Specialist and subject matter expert in Healthcare Risk Management (HRM) for the Defense Health Network (DHN) with expertise in all technical and functional issues related to HRM programs. Coordinate all healthcare risk management activities regarding Quality Assurance directly pertaining to delivery of health care and works collaboratively and closely with the network Chief Clinical Quality Management and HQ DHA HRM program. Provide technical assistance and guidance to include on-site and virtual visits as necessary. Use HRM programs and/or other Personal Computer (PC) based application programs to develop statistical and other reports for the DHA staff and other agencies as required. Advisor for provider on adverse action and adverse event management within the DHN. Review and coordinate Healthcare Risk Management cases at MTF level and those elevated to the DHN level to ensure accuracy and inclusiveness of documentation. Routinely brief DHN leadership on HRM case status within their network. Work closely in association with other programs within the DHN to support a comprehensive strategy. Track efficiency of the HRM (Healthcare Risk Manager) process; recommends and implements procedural improvements. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes identify improvements by analyzing and monitoring adverse action cases; interpreting policies and/or procedures to develop guidance across medical facilities; and advising senior leaders regarding healthcare risk management. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service GS-12. Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted. Education Additional Information Male applicants born after December 31, 1959 must complete a Pre-Employment Certification Statement for Selective Service Registration.
