Description

If you are an Environmental, Health, and Safety professional looking for an opportunity to grow, we have an exciting opportunity for you! Based in our Forney, TX Distribution Center, you will work closely with the DC Management, HR, and Business Unit EHS leaders to implement our safety strategy, problem solve and implement safety-first solutions. This position is accountable to provide safety leadership to ensure organizational stability, EHS compliance and drive continuous improvement in our approach to all EHS guidelines, and to manage regulations while supporting distribution center growth.

As a EHS Leader, YOU WILL:

  • Work with DC leadership to develop and implement proactive safety, occupational health, and environmental practices that are systemic in the context of efficiency and waste-free operation. Includes establishment of annual targets.

  • Ensure the implementation and periodic reviews of required written safety, health, and environmental programs.

  • Implement and maintain compliance with all regulatory requirements as define in 29 CFR 1910 and publish a written standard for each element.

  • Conduct audits and risk assessments, validate applications, and verify buildings, equipment and/or processes before release to the distribution center for use to ensure all safety, environmental and health requirements are met.

  • Plan, collaborate and implement training efforts that ensure the knowledge and mindset are in place to achieve world-class outcomes on all EHS matters.

  • Lead and manage the incident investigation process within the facility and utilize root cause analysis to develop the appropriate preventive and correction actions.

  • Ensure appropriate record-keeping practices related to safety, environmental and occupational health. Prepare reports for OSHA, EPA, BLS and other agencies.

  • Fulfill key leadership role in all emergency response efforts, emergency response training drills, and the development of emergency response plan

  • Drive a culture with a focus of ZERO incidents

REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCES & SKILLS:

  • Associate degree in Safety, Environmental Science or related field with three (3) or more years of progressively responsible experience in EHS or distribution/warehouse leadership role. Minimum of 3 years of industrial safety and regulatory experience in a manufacturing or distribution setting

  • Knowledge of technical fundamentals of safety management and risk assessments and risk reduction, including machinery and process safety, industrial hygiene, loss prevention, ergonomics and occupational health

  • Knowledgeable in local safety, health, and environmental laws and regulations

  • Experience owning audit and compliance management

  • Effective communicator and change agent

  • Strong presentation skills – development and delivery

  • Lean manufacturing/continuous improvement processes

PREFERRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCES & SKILLS

  • Bachelor’s degree in safety, environmental science or related field

  • Professional certification as a Certified Safety Professional

  • Emergency responder experience

  • Lean certification

This is an on-site position typically working first shift hours. Our teams work together to ensure their chosen work schedules are supporting our customers and employees.
