$2,000.00 Bonus = $1,000 after 90 days and $1,000 after 1 year
Position Overview
The Robotics and Automation Engineer designs, develops, and implements robotic systems and automated solutions to enhance manufacturing processes, improve efficiency, and reduce costs. This role involves working with cross-functional teams to integrate advanced technologies into production lines, ensuring seamless operation and maintenance of automated systems. The Robotics and Automation Engineer also troubleshoots issues, optimizes performance, and stays abreast of emerging technologies in the field. Lead according to Mustad values.
Essential Job Functions
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
Design and develop robotic systems and automated solutions tailored to specific manufacturing needs.
Create detailed schematics, blueprints, and technical documentation for automation projects.
Select appropriate components, such as sensors, actuators, and controllers, to build efficient and reliable systems.
Integrate robotic systems and automation technologies into existing production lines.
Collaborate with production, engineering, and maintenance teams to ensure smooth implementation and operation.
Conduct system testing and validation to ensure performance meets design specifications and production requirements.
Develop and program control systems for robots and automated machinery using languages such as C++, Python, or PLC ladder logic.
Implement human-machine interface (HMI) systems for operator interaction and monitoring.
Optimize control algorithms to enhance system performance and efficiency.
Diagnose and resolve technical issues with robotic systems and automated equipment.
Perform routine maintenance and updates to ensure system reliability and longevity.
Provide technical support and training to maintenance and production staff.
Analyze production processes to identify opportunities for automation and efficiency improvements.
Implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance system performance and reduce downtime.
Collaborate with the engineering team to design and optimize workflows and equipment.
Ensure that all robotic and automated systems comply with safety regulations and industry standards.
Conduct risk assessments and implement safety measures to prevent accidents.
Stay informed about emerging technologies and trends in robotics and automation.
Research and evaluate new tools, technologies, and methodologies to enhance system capabilities.
Participate in R&D projects to develop innovative solutions for complex manufacturing challenges
Education, Experience, and Skills Requirements
BS degree in Engineering (i.e., Mechanical, Robotics, Electrical) or related field
Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in maintenance engineering or a similar role.
Proficiency in programming languages such as C++, Python, or PLC ladder logic. Experience with CAD software, HMI systems, and robotic simulation tools.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to diagnose and resolve complex issues. Problem-solving skills, advanced technical skills, analytical thinker
Relevant certifications such as Certified Maintenance & Reliability Professional (CMRP) or similar are a plus.
Able to work independently and accurately with minimal supervision
Proficiency with MS Office, well organized, and with a strong aptitude for details
Must be able to read, write, and speak English
Desirable Skills/Attributes (preferred but not required)
Experience working in maintenance areas.
PowerBi experience
Certified Black belt
Experience working with operational excellence processes implemented (Lean, TPM, SixSigma)
Physical Demands
Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer
Periods of standing, walking, reaching above shoulders, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling, and working with tools
Occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
Must hold a valid passport with the ability to travel internationally 10%
Work Environment
The employee works in a factory environment and is occasionally exposed to wet, humid conditions and toxic or caustic chemicals. Individuals are occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles and are working with near-moving mechanical parts with the risk of electrical shock. The noise level in the work environment is loud. Personal protective equipment will be provided.
