GENERAL FUNCTION

This position serves as a technical assistant to Quality Performance Lab Engineering for all product qualification and validation testing.

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Support Lab Engineer to develop/validate testing for new materials

  • Work with Lab Engineer to conduct failure analysis on customer returns

  • Support Lab Test Engineer to develop and validate new test method, gauge R&R and method implementation

  • Carry out accredited tests for military products 6-month retention and for product qualification testing with military on-site observation

  • Perform any other accredited tests per ISO 17025 accreditation scope

  • Capable of conducting product testing per standard work instruction and procedures

  • Conduct qualification testing for each new model per APQP phase gates

  • Responsible for eyewear CE compliance testing per ISO 12312

  • Assist Lab Engineer with ISO 17025 compliance related to equipment calibration, lab supply management and document control

  • Record and analyze test data, write test reports

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED)

  • 2-years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence and memos.

  • Ability to write simple correspondence, and memos. Effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees.

  • Ability to add, subtracts, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. As well as ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

  • Ability to deal with problems involving several variables in standardized situations.

  • Attention to detail and concentration for necessary periods; apply common sense and understanding and carry out instructions (written, oral, or diagrammatic); adapt to situations requiring the precise attainment of set limits, tolerances, or standards.

Employee pay is determined by multiple factors, including geography, experience, qualifications, skills and local minimum wage requirements.
